Why Coaching?

Ultimately every company's success depends on the performance of its people.  There is no substitute for human performance.  The more highly performing a person is, the more they get paid, the more they are successful and rewarded.  Coaching is an imperative for the success of an organization as well as of individuals.  It brings out the best in people, sharpens their individual skills and enhances teams and the entire organization.  Coaching can assist in the growth and development of the professionals and leaders of tomorrow and certainly assists tremendously in enhancing productivity, improving job satisfactions and longevity.  Emotional well-being makes the difference between career stagnation or even failure, and success and achievement - it can make or break a career; or in the case of a leader...an organization.  Being productive, resourceful and effective affects not only the individual, manager and leader; but affects the success and growth of the organization as a whole.  People are paid first for what they do.  As a person moves up the corporate ladder, leaders are paid for creating and holding in their mind the concept of the organization.  The major outcomes for NLP Coaching are increased and enhanced performance as well as future performance of the individual and the organization.

NLP Coaching vs. Traditional Coaching

"Traditional consultants are recognized experts in their fields, who either sell their expert advice or perform their expert actions (or both) to complete a task on behalf of their clients.  Consultants are hired to solve problems.  With consulting, you have considerable control over the process and virtually no control over the results.  Consultants normally seek and take credit or acclaim for work done or achievements.  Consultants rarely affect the personal improvement of their clients"

NLP Coaching works with the Client to discover and utilize the most productive strategies, values, and other modalities already at the Client's disposal but which are not being utilized for maximum benefit.  The focus is on the Client in achieving his/her career or organizational goals and objectives.

NLP Coaching vs. Traditional Training

The Training Process focuses on teaching the students how to perform something.  Trainers are experts in their fields and teach various processes, methods and/or skills to do something in a predetermined manner.  Trainers do not focus on you improving as a person.  Generally speaking trainers only focus on teaching a particular skill.  Trainers and their clients generally form a loose teacher-student relationship that is not close and not necessarily confidential.  The students are instructed what to do and how to do it.  They have little control over the process or outcome.

NLP Trainings are designed to teach people not only how to perform something, the emphasis in these trainings is how to discover and get in charge of the mental processes occurring naturally inside every individual.  By learning how people think (such as their strategies) the Client improves as a person.  There is no better improvement than to have control over one's internal processes.  So, in fact the student has maximum control over processes and outcomes.

NLP Coaching vs. Mentors

Mentors focus on providing you sage advice and wisdom gathered through experience and knowledge when you ask for their insight.  Mentors can be considered a library of human knowledge in the particular areas of life they have gained expertise.  Mentors normally focus on providing knowledge, understanding and direction, but have been known to help in your improvement as a person when you allow yourself to become the subject.

In NLP Coaching we don't actually offer advice as to what to do - we Coach the Client HOW to utilize his own capabilities and already present strategies, values, etc.  By discovering and understanding the Client's intrinsic abilities, the Coach can assist in maximizing those abilities and so, to make possible for the Client to take the actions necessary to achieve his desired results.

NLP Coaching vs. Self-Help

The self-help process usually operates through the advice of self-help books, television shows, tapes, seminars, radio shows and/or internet sites.  When using the self-help process, you must provide the guidance, energy, support, wisdom and direction to learn and do what you feel is necessary to accomplish your goals.  The self-help process also requires you to conduct most of it, if not all, the improving processes alone.  Using this process normally produces incompletion.

In NLP Coaching, we realize that we can probably arrive at the same goals and outcomes with or without a Coach but the process would be more tedious and more difficult because we are like the fish in water unable to describe our environment.  Many times we cannot traverse our own logical thinking and we need to bounce our ideas by somebody else like an NLP Coach.  NLP Coaching gives you the perspective of a Coach trained in process, which can then discover where the process is going wrong and thus Coach you to correct it.  The feedback is essential in correcting mistakes and improving overall results.

NLP Coaching vs. Traditional Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is an interpersonal, relational intervention used by trained psychotherapists to aid clients in problems of living.  This usually includes increasing individual sense of well-being and reducing subjective discomforting experience through the process of lengthy discussion.  Psychotherapists employ a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building, dialogue, communication and behavior change and that are designed to improve the mental health of a client or patient, or to improve group relationships.

Most Clients are surprised that in NLP Coaching, there is not allot of time spent in wallowing in the problem.  The focus is placed in discovering the structure of what prevents the Client from achieving his/her goals and changing the structure to make the goals achievable.  NLP Coaching does not focus on the Client's life but on his future goals and objectives and the overall development and growth of the individual during the process of achieving those objectives.
